Death Comes To Carrie Stanius, 95
Funeral services for Carrie Stanius were conducted from the Oxlip Evangelical Free Church on Saturday, August 8, 1959, at 2:30 o'clock with Rev. R. L. Jackson officiating. Oscar Alm sang "Security" in Swedish and "Rock of Ages." Mrs. Gust Larson was the organist. The pallbearers were LaVerne Stanius, Dennis Stanius, Gilbert Stanius, Robert L. Stanius, Noble Larson and Robert Larson. Interment was made in the Long Lake Lutheran Cemetery. Carrie Stanius was born in Dalarne, Sweden, April 15, 1864. She emigrated to America in the fall of 1884 with her widowed mother, one sister, and one brother. They settled in Bradford Township where her brother, Peter, had provided a home for them. On December 8, 1886 she was united in marriage to Peter Stanius. This union was blessed with five children. Her husband, Peter, one daughter, Mrs. Robert Stanius (Sophia), and a son, Gust, have preceded her in death. Carrie Stanius passed away in Minneapolis, Minnesota on August 5, 1959, at the age of 95 years, 3 months and 20 days. She is survived by one son, Herman, two daughters, Mrs. John Larson (Minnie) and Mrs. Carl Pearson (Anne), both of Minneapolis, 20 grandchildren and, 34 great grand-children. Cambridge Star Carrie (Halden) Stanius is the daughter of Stikå Anna Persdotter and Håll Per Persson. Håll Per Persson (her father) is the son of Rombo Anna Andersdotter and Håll Per Persson. |
