Helen Marie Henrikson
![]() Helen Marie Henrikson, age 93, died on December 1, 2004 at Hillcrest of Wayzata. She was born on Nov. 5, 1911 and raised on her parent’s farm in Spencer Brook Township, Isanti County, the daughter of Charlie and Maude (Thompson) Peterson. Marie attended the Chapman School in Spencer Brook Township and Victory School in Bradford Township. At the age of 18 she moved to Minneapolis and later to Lake Minnetonka. She worked as a nurse taking care of the children of a private family. In the lake area she met Kermit Ingham Henrikson. They were married on March 12, 1938. They built a home in Deephaven and raised a family of three children. Kerm died on August 10, 1997. After living in her Deephaven home for 65 years Marie moved to Alterra Clare Bridge in Plymouth in January, 2003. In October, 2004 she moved to Hillcrest of Wayzata. She is most remembered for her love of family and the wonderful meals she prepared for both family and friends. She is survived by two daughters, Carol (Douglas) Sather of Anoka and Nancy (Ray) Morrisette of Burnsville; a son, Charles (Patricia) Henrikson of Madison, WI; eight grandchildren, Scott (Alison) Cook-Sather; Bruce (Terri) Sather; Wendy (Dean) Saunders; Brett Henrikson; and Keith, Scott (Anne), Jason and Kelly Morrisette, nine great grandchildren, a sister-in-law, Kaye Henrikson, and many other relatives and friends. Marie was preceded in death by her parents and three sisters and their husbands: Marvelle (Worthie) Holmberg, Pearl (Walt) Stoeckel and Ruby (Art) Buvick. The funeral will be held Saturday, December 4, 11:00 am at the Huber Funeral Home in Excelsior. Visitation is available an hour before the service. Interment will be held at 1:30 at Lakeside Cemetery, Spencer Brook Township, Isanti County. Photo provided by C. Henrikson |
