Roy Kriesel
Roy Ralph Kriesel, 90, of Isanti, died January 2, 2004 at Abbott Northwestern Hospital. Services were held Jan. 6 at Long Lake Lutheran Church with Pastor Howard Skulstad officiating. Music was by John Lundeen, accompanied by Kristy Anderson. Burial was at Lakeside Cemetery with his grandsons, Kevin, Jeff and Ralph Kriesel, Larry Puck, Jeremy Hass, and Nathan Walkner, as active pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers were Lynn Erickson, Paula Hierlmaier, Kim Rupecht, Joshua and Justin Hass, Shawna and Holly Walkner, Brenda Puck, and Gary Kriesel. Roy was born November 21, 1913 to August and Justina (Grams) Kriesel in Spencer Brook Township, Isanti, MN. He met Anna J. Peterson and they were married December 1, 1934. They were blessed with five children and 63 years together. He worked for Continental Machine and for WPA. When he was called to join the Army, they sold their home in the cities and moved the family back to the country. Then two days before he was to join, they called and said he was too old. He went back to work for Continental Machine and later went to work as a boilermaker for Local 647. He retired in 1975. He enjoyed s pending time with the family, camping and fishing with family and friends, snowmobiling on Sunday afternoons after church, and having picnics in the woods along the way. The last few years he enjoyed playing dice with family and friends. He was a member of the Bradford Sportsman's Club for many years. He was always there to play Bingo that the club sponsored. For many years, he and Anna volunteered cutting soup labels for the Isanti schools. He was preceded in death by his wife, Anna, of 63 years; daughter, Debbie and her husband, Lloyd Walkner; brothers, Wally, Harold, and Arthur. He is survived by sons, Wendell (Violet) of Isanti, Dale (Marlys) of Isanti; daughters, Sharon (Paul) Puck of Texas, Rose (John) Hass of Isanti; 15 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren, and four great-great-grandchildren; sisters-in-law, Daisy Samuelson of Minneapolis and Melva Peterson of Isanti. Arrangements were with Carlson-Labatte Funeral Home in Cambridge. Published in the Isanti County News Roy Ralph Kriesel was married to Anna Jenneseen Peterson. Anna Jenneseen Peterson is the daughter of Josephine Larson and Andrew Hall Peterson. Andrew Hall Peterson is the son of Håll Andrew Peterson. |
