Lucille I. Lavander
![]() Lucille Imogene (Anderson) Lavander, 94, of Cambridge, died peacefully October 24, 2005 at Grandview Christian Home, loved by family and friends. A celebration of her life and memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 1 at Spencer Brook United Church with Rev. Diane Nelson officiating. Interment will be in Nicholas Cemetery. Memorials to Spencer Brook United Methodist Church, c/o Princeton United Methodist Church, 112 North Seventh Ave. Princeton, MN 55371. She was born January 4, 1911 in Menomonie, WI. to John and Ida Anderson. As a young girl she moved with her parents to Columbia Heights. She later worked at the Bell Telephone Company in Minneapolis for 20 years. On May 31, 1947 she married Elmer Lavander and they moved to the Lavander family farm in Spencer Brook, MN shortly after. She spent her final years at Grandview Christian Home in Cambridge. She was preceded in death by her husband, Elmer Milton Lavander, and sister Alvera Norling. She is survived by her children John (Nan Owen) Lavander of Minneapolis, Nancy (Raymond) Seeger of St. Paul, grandchildren Bradley, Tommy and Davey Lavander, and brother Melvin Anderson. The family wishes to thank the staff of Grandview and its Adult Day Care Center for their kindness and support. She was a long-standing member of the Spencer Brook United Methodist Church. Lucille had a wonderful sense of humor, a bright spirit and enjoyed sewing, painting and, most of all, spending time with her family.
