Thomas Lyle Peterson
![]() Tom L. Peterson of Cambridge, 54, died February 20, 2004 due to complications from cancer. Funeral services were held Feb. 24 from Zion Lutheran Church of Crown with Rev. Loel Wessel officiating. Eulogy was read by Todd Peterson. John Lundeen, accompanied by Dr. Crystal Rossow, sang, "The Old Rugged Cross" and "The Lord's Prayer." Active pallbearers were Jesse Guthrie, Kristopher Peterson, Joe Semler Jr., Pete Semler, Chuck Jost, Roger Lindsay, Norm Reinhart, Jeff Lueck, Todd Peterson and Ray Nash. Honorary pallbearers were the Mystic Riders Snowmobile Club and all his Biker Buddies. Tom was born March 4, 1949 to Clements and Melva Peterson in Princeton, MN. He attended elementary school in Oxlip and Isanti and graduated from Cambridge Sr. High. He attended Anoka Vo-Tech for Auto Mechanics. Tom was a man of many talents, working as an auto mechanic, boilermaker, cook, co-owner of a convenience store and a finish carpenter. On August 16, 1975 Tom married Judy Collins from Revillo, S.D. They lived in Princeton for a short time, and then settled in Oxlip. Tom was a special uncle to all of his nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. Tom enjoyed many activities, circle track racing, snowmobiling, fishing, bow and gun deer hunting, threshing shows, restoring Massey-Harris tractors, and riding his Harley. Tom was preceded in death by his father Clements, father-in-law Lloyd Collins, grandparents Andrew and Josephine Peterson and Albert and Clara Ponath, godmother Lena Lepel and beloved dog Lady and curious cat Smoky. Tom is survived by his wife Judy; mother Melva and step-father Don Peterson of Isanti; brothers and sisters Terry (Allison) of Oxlip, Marnie (Lynn) Guthrie of Cambridge, Lori (Terry) Daudt of Longville, Cathy (Larry) Aldrich of Cambridge, Jim of Oxlip, mother-in-law Monica Collins of Revillo, SD, brothers-in-law Jim (Donna) of Revillo, Tom (Tennis) of Hayti, SD, Ron (Janet) of Revillo, John of Revillo, Dennis (Lorraine) of Stockholm, SD, Bruce (Linda) of Fargo, ND, sister-in-law Mary (Tom) Parquet of Midland, SD, godfather Melvin Ponath and his two cats Harley and Davidson.
